We started The Moon Hotel with the simple goal of creating a space for people to reconnect with nature and each other. In a world that moves too fast, where to-do lists never end and neighbors remain strangers, we aim to be the bridge that slows you down and reminds you what really matters. Having lived in Phoenix most of our lives, we kept hearing how people felt uncomfortable outdoors. We were even more surprised by how many locals had never visited the Grand Canyon. We knew we needed to do something about this, and thus began our crazy adventure as two twenty-somethings starting a campground with minimal resources and a big dream. We knew nothing about land development, community hearings, or, frankly, how to start or run a business but we’ve spent the last six years figuring it all out.

Growing up, we were both lucky enough to have families who took us camping often, and we truly believe everyone should experience the outdoors. Whether it’s someone having their first s’more or seeing the Milky Way for the first time with their own eyes, we know we have something special and are excited to continue sharing it with others. Our ultimate goal at The Moon Hotel is to give back significantly to our local community and show that small businesses doing good are worth supporting. Sometimes, it just takes a campfire, a s’more, and a good conversation to leave our small piece of the cosmos a little better than we found it.
